My takes. Since everyone is assuming it's going to be crap because we're fighting the war that won't go away will probably end up liking it because of the element of surprise. We assume the worst, but we'll get better than that. Surprising us so much that we actually think the game is way better than it is. The complete opposite of the Halo 3 equation. Hype + Epic last chapter = Ultimate dissappointment. Meaning we all perceive Halo to be actually worse than it actually was because it was so damn surprisingly dissappointing.
In the end of my theory, is that your initial thoughts of the game is the all deciding outcome to whether or not you will like or dislike the game. What do you guys think?

I actually don't care if its a World War II shooter. I have wanted a pacific Call of Duty game ever since I played through Medal of Honor Pacific Assault...

I disagree. People said Halo 3 was going to be absolutely perfect, the best thing to be played in history. Boy, were they wrong. No one gave BioShock any love prior to it's release, but it won many Game of the Year awards.
