All I would have to say is, look for some really in depth tutorials, that explain everything not like, click this tool ect.
Then using what the tutorial said, twist it around, and combine it with other tutorials basicly.

Find some tutorials on lighting, depth, brushes, stocks, renders, blending, c4d tutorials also.
Also download a lot of brushes.

Brushes are pretty much stencils that you use to create a flow within your art.
Some are small, big, grudged ect.
The coolest thing that I think you could do with brushes, is create cool effects in images like, maybe a new background or, make it apart of someones face or body by using a clipping mask.

Also, a lot of people will tell you to make your sigs small, don't.
Practice on big canvases first then move on to smaller sig sized canvases.

I'll create an in depth tut for you, with all the basics and stuff.

What eddition do you use because I have Adobe Elements 2.0.

We all use cs3 :x
Some maybe even cs4.
