ok when i try to brush something in color it just brushes white instead of the color i put as my primary.

Maybe it's the brushes fault?

That seems weird.. This happens everytime or just once? There is a buttom combo that you can press when photoshop is starting to reset all the settings. I forgot what it was but a google search should bring it up, that may work.
