What do you like in montages??

When your watching a Halo montage what elements of it do you find the most enjoyable....large multis, sticks, extreme editing, snipes, music, speed, funny credits, etc....

lately ive found sticks getting really boring ...so i was just wondering what you guys like ...

Yeah I only like sticks if they were the crazy, extremely lucky ones. The staples of a good montage are:
  • Quality clips: Solid multi-kills should be the backbone of the video. Clips from MLG games are usually given the most credibility. Try to stay away from clips with guests in them.
  • Good music: no one wants to watch a montage if they can't stand the music. Rock songs are usually used in montages.
  • Editing: You don't have to use crazy editing like Obscure Terror did in Sanguine Wave, just synchronize the kills to the beat of the song and transition from clip to clip in a seamless and visually appealing way.

Those are what makes a montage worth watching, in my opinion.

I'm not a big halo player but I do enjoy watching montages of them, and since I am not a big fan, the video has to be pretty damn good to have me watch the whole thing.

So far, most entertaining one what Betrayal part 1 and 2 :D I love those LOL Great music, great editing and lots of angry people.

For a serious video though, I like to see crazy kills that are a bit of skill and a lot of luck. I enjoy no scopes a lot, across the map sticks, long killing sprees, and anything with total carnage.

Multi-kills are fun, basically, pwnage. But make sure the editing is good.

i tend to like really good gameplay over editing
gameplay > editing

but you do need to sync up the music and have decent transitions but all the other flashy stuff i could do without

i do agree that if someone gets their clips form muti team it is not as impressive as mlg and guest should never be in a montage.

i like seeing one of a kind, one in a million kills. that makes a montage. not the same boring stuff over and over again. oh, a no scope. oh, a long stick. oh, a quick scope. that shit gets boring. you gotta have stuff that no one else has, or people have seen.

The problem is there are so many montages, you've seen about everything.

Then again, I don't really watch them :/

But if I saw a no scope from half way across the map, that'd be sick.
